Kilt Ordering Process
Each FlamingoKilt is unique. Please use the
(detailed below) to submit your measurements, fabric choice, and construction details. We'll reply by e-mail with final kilt pricing, shipping charges, and estimated shipping date.
Once these details are agreed upon, we'll issue a PayPal invoice for one-half the total amount, for payment prior to kilt construction. The balance of payment will be invoiced (and must be paid) prior to shipment. Your kilt will typically be ready in no more than three weeks, barring extraordinary circumstances and assuming prompt payment on your part.
Kilt Pricing (U.S. Dollars)
The basic FlamingoKilt starts at $100 plus shipping. This includes RevK pleating, standard fabric choices listed below, and your choice of size and placement of belt loops. Add $25 for cargo pockets with your choice of closure style and insert placement.
Fabric Choices
Standard fabrics (included in basic kilt pricing) are:
- Poly/cotton (medium weight) in a range of colors
- Denim (medium to heavy weight 100% cotton) in light or dark blue or black
- Camouflage (medium weight, 100% cotton or cotton/nylon) in traditional or digital patterns

Faux snakeskin! Picture this pleated "to the stripe" -- it's got a lovely feel and drape. Please, no pockets in this 100% polyester fabric.
Swatches of any standard or in-stock fabric available on request. For a $5.00 swatch fee, up to 5 different swatches will be provided per request. This fee will be credited back to your first kilt invoice. Please e-mail your swatch request to Sales@FlamingoKilts.biz and we'll issue a PayPal invoice for the fee.
Special-Order Fabrics
Want something off-the-wall? We can source nearly any type and color of fabric suitable for casual kilt-making. Additional charges, order time, and swatch details for special-order fabrics will be quoted on submission of the Kilt Quote Request Form. At this time, we do not make tartan kilts (but stay tuned).
Your Kilt Measurements
Please measure carefully, following the instructions and diagrams below. You'll need an assistant to take accurate measurements. FlamingoKilts.biz will make your kilt to the exact specifications provided.
WAIST: At natural waist (navel) or lower, your choice. Make this a nice tight measurement. Note that we do not offer a "gut cut" kilt at this time -- that is, our kilts are one length all the way around. If your waistband rides lower in front, your kilt hem will be lower in front.
HIP: Around the fullest part of your lower body. This can be a looser measurement than waist.
FELL: From your chosen waistline to the point where you measured hip circumference. Pleats will be stitched down for this length.
LENGTH: From your chosen waistline to your chosen hemline. This may range from above the kneecap to mid-knee or lower, your choice.
WAIST BACK and HIP BACK: Other kiltmakers may not ask for these measurements, but they help us determine your proportions so that we may accurately construct your kilt. Imagine you are wearing pants (sorry) and measure from side seam to side seam, across your back at your chosen waistline (WAIST BACK) and at the hip measurement line (HIP BACK).
