Why "Flamingo Kilts"?

  

This handsome fellow adorns our workshop in sunny San Diego, California. The artist insists that's a piece of Spanish moss
above his head.

For years, we wondered if the flamingo
had brought his bathing towel. Lately we decided that he has carefully removed
his kilt before wading!

The Flamingo's Scottish Heritage

Our flamingo was created by the former Martha Avery. Her brother (of Avery
label fame) once owned a manor house and estate lands on the northeastern coast
of Scotland.

So, if you squint your eyes and tilt your head just so, this flamingo is the nephew of a former Scottish laird!
